An award-winning Vistry Group site manager is on track for even more honours after being short-listed for a national award.
Lewis Little, a former Army physical training instructor, is in the running for a fifth award this September at the British Ex-Forces in Business Awards.
The 32-year-old from Southampton has been nominated in the Military Values in Business Category.
Lewis is one of six Vistry finalists and the ceremony takes place in London this September.
Lewis is site manager at Vistry’s Minerva Heights development in Chichester.
This year he received his third National House Building Council (NHBC) Pride in the Job Quality Award. He also went on to pick up a Seal of Excellence in the competition last year.
Lewis has worked in the construction industry for nine years, following an eight-year stint in the Army after joining up at the age of 16.
Lewis says the military values he acquired during his years in the Army have been transferred into the housebuilding business.
He added: “Many of the lessons and skills I learnt in the Army have stayed with me and have been a great help in my current new career. Here at Vistry we all strive for quality and aim to deliver to the highest standards at all times.”
Vistry has a track record of backing the military and has publicly pledged to help and support veterans. In 2021 the company re-signed a pledge, known as the Armed Forces Covenant, to reinforce its gold status at supporting members of the armed forces community.
Bovis Homes – part of Vistry – was awarded the Ministry of Defence’s Gold Award for the Employer Recognition Scheme in 2019. It first signed the Armed Forces Covenant in 2016 and was the first dedicated housebuilder to receive the Gold Award.
The British Ex-Forces in Business Awards take place at Grosvenor House on 8th September.
