Vistry Group delighted to support Women into Construction at its Beam Park scheme

In light of National Apprenticeship Week, we were delighted to welcome leading organisation Women into Construction to our Beam Park scheme as part of their new Women into Home Building Employment Programme, to promote women into site management.

Women into Construction is an independent not- for- profit organisation that works to promote gender equality in construction by tackling the traditionally male culture in the sector and create opportunities for women who are keen to work in construction.

Women into Construction, alongside The Home Builders Federation, recently launched a new nationwide employment programme for 45 women to build the skills for a fulfilling career in home building. As part of this programme, Vistry Group was excited to get involved by offering a valuable site visit at our flagship site Beam Park scheme in Dagenham.

On Wednesday 8th February, Vistry Group welcomed the Women into Home Building Employment programme to Beam Park where they received first-hand insights into the role of a site manager.  This included a site tour, as well as talks from our site managers and supply chain. The group heard first-hand from our female trainees and site managers on why they love their jobs and their routes into the role.

Working with other housebuilders Vistry Group will support the delivery of an insight week, before offering five, two-week site placements nationally.

Vistry Group is proud to offer plenty of career pathways that suit a wide range of entry routes and applicants.  We understand how important our people are in developing sustainable new homes and communities across all sectors of the UK housing Market and encourage anyone who is interested in working in the sector to apply.
