A housebuilder is set to deliver 300 new homes in the Hampshire village of Church Crookham after purchasing a new site for development.

Vistry Group, which includes Bovis Homes and Linden Homes, has bought the land at Albany Park, off Watery Lane, from developer Martin Grant Homes.

The 82-acre site has detailed planning permission for 180 new homes for private sale and 120 affordable properties available for local people through rent and shared ownership. There will be a mix of one, two, three and four-bedroom designs.

Vistry will also be providing a new sports pavilion, sports pitches, multi-use games area and children’s play areas as well as extensive natural greenspace within the site.

“We are keen to progress work on this very exciting development which will be set in a beautiful location surrounded by stunning countryside.The selection of homes at the site will appeal to a wide range of home-hunters including young first-time buyers, growing families and people downsizing later in life.

“At Albany Park, we will be showcasing our state-of-the-art customer experience which has seen us team up with the award-winning visual technology company Futurium. Customers will be able to browse, design and purchase their new house on a system that will digitally transform the home-buying journey.” 

Amy added: “There will be a very definite focus on the provision of a range of outdoor environments at Albany Park, from green open spaces to children’s play areas, sports pitches, a multi-use games area and a new sports pavilion. Since the pandemic, people who are looking for a new home want to have easy access to sports facilities and natural surroundings and Albany Park will give them exactly that. 

“We will be creating a fabulous 40-acre suitable alternative natural greenspace next to the new homes. This area will feature walking paths, boardwalks, new planting and a public car park and will provide new and existing residents in the area with a place to get outdoors to de-stress and reconnect with nature.”

The housebuilder hopes to be able to release the first homes for sale at Albany Park this spring.
