With the festive season in full swing, the developer and its partners were keen to give back to the communities in which they operate. The partners have two schemes progressing in the Somerset area, Strawberry Grange in Bridgwater, and Isleport Grove in Highbridge, and were pleased to donate Christmas trees to two local schools, hoping to bring some Christmas joy to the school children.
The staff and pupils at Polden Bower School, a specialist education school in Bridgwater, and Mark First & Pre-School CE Academy in Highbridge, were delighted with the donations and enjoyed spending time decorating the trees together.
Ensuring those in the area benefited from this initiative, Countryside sourced the trees from local supplier, Langford Lakes, a Christmas tree farm set in the heart of rural Somerset, known for its home grown, freshly cut trees. The staff at this family-run business were delighted to help the team pick out some beautiful 10ft Norway Spruce trees for the schools.
Darren Dancey, managing director of Countryside Partnerships West, said: “Along with our partners Live West and Sigma we’re pleased to have played a small part in spreading the festive spirit in the local area this Christmas. We look forward to continuing to support and build long-lasting relationships with the communities close to us in the new year.”
Gareth Jones, director of development for LiveWest, commented: “It is great to have joined up with our valued partners to spread some festive cheer to the local areas where we are developing much-needed affordable homes. Investing in our communities is important to LiveWest and we are looking forward to forging closer links in the future.”
Niamh Waldron, ESG director at Sigma Capital Group, added: “We are delighted to have been a part of this community activity and look forward to building relationships with both schools, and others in the local area, and supporting projects where we can in the future. Sigma and Simple Life Homes wish everyone a very happy festive season.”
