Vistry Group renews Royal Engineer Association Football Club sponsorship

Vistry Group, one of the UK’s leading housebuilders, has renewed its sponsorship of the Royal Engineers Association Football Club, representing the British Army’s Corps of Royal Engineers.

Governed by Army Sport, the Royal Engineers Association Football Club aims to align sport to the Army’s current and future priorities as it plays an important part in Army life, including recruiting and retention. The club famously contested the first ever FA Cup final in 1872 and won the internationally renowned tournament in 1875.

The latest sponsorship builds on Vistry’s proud association with the armed forces. The business regularly recruits ex-forces personnel into a range of housebuilding roles, provides home ownership discounts to former service men and women, holds Skills Academies (on-site training programmes) for ex-service men and women, and is a Gold Award winner of the Armed Forces Covenant scheme, part of the Ministry of Defence Employee Recognition Scheme (ERS).

Commenting, Keith Carnegie, Chief Executive of Housebuilding at Vistry Group, said:
“As a Group we have a long and proud association with the armed services, with many fantastic colleagues who made the transition from military life to the housebuilding industry. We are always keen to support current and former service personnel where we can, so we’re delighted to be sponsoring the Royal Engineers AFC again this season.”

Brigadier Simon Stockley, President of the Royal Engineers Association Football Club, said:
“I am delighted that Vistry Group, a gold winning Armed Forces Covenant employer, have renewed their sponsorship of Sapper football. Their support has helped professionalise the matchday experience for our players as we approach the 150th anniversary of the club winning the FA Cup.”
