The awards seek to recognise and champion progress on the journey to decarbonisation for the UK housing sector and the supply chain that supports it. The winner will be announced at a ceremony on 27 June, alongside the Housing 2023 conference.
Pollinate in Partnerships has been shortlisted alongside six other projects or businesses which have demonstrated an ‘exceptional approach’ to biodiversity and nature.
The scheme was first launched in 2021 and is one of Vistry’s initiatives to address the population decline of pollinators. It is currently being implemented at 16 sites across the Partnerships division’s operating area, covering thousands of new homes.
Through collaboration with the Bumblebee Conservation Trust and Pollenize, Vistry has sought to increase the spread of wildflowers across its sites and offices, as well as raise awareness and support greater engagement with residents, supply chain and staff, and the wider community.
Charlotte Olver, Head of Social Value, commented:
“Pollinate in Partnerships has been a greater success than we ever could have imagined, and it’s really rewarding to see this being recognised by industry peers and leaders.
“I’m incredibly proud of our team for bringing this idea to life and of everyone at Vistry, including our suppliers and contractors, for getting involved and making this scheme the success that it is today.
“Our hope is that the initiative sparks interest amongst the community and creates a lasting impact for the better – all of which feeds into Vistry’s commitment to ‘doing the right thing’.”
The category winners will be announced and celebrated on Tuesday 27 June at Manchester Central at 6:30 pm.
