Vistry extends its partnership with Abri to provide 116 affordable homes in Wantage

Vistry Group, the UK’s leading provider of affordable mixed tenure homes, has extended its partnership with Abri, one of the south’s leading housing providers, to deliver 116 new affordable homes in Wantage, Oxfordshire.

The site is the seventh land parcel at Kingsgrove, a new settlement of 1,534 homes, with Vistry having already acquired phase six last year.

In line with Vistry’s partner delivery strategy, the 116 homes in phase seven have been presold to Abri. They include one- and two-bedroom flats and two-, three- and four-bedroom houses. Abri will use its own funding, alongside grant funding from its strategic partnership with Homes England (the government’s housing delivery agency), to make all the homes affordable, with 72 homes made available for affordable rent and 44 for shared ownership.

The site already benefits from outline planning consent, with the outcome of a reserved matters application currently pending.

All of the new homes at Kingsgrove will be centred around a neighbourhood hub featuring a range of amenities, including allotments and a community orchard.
The wider masterplan will also provide 100 acres of green space, including a new public park, and new woodland.

Supriya Ray, Regional Managing Director of Vistry Cotswolds, said: ‘We’re really pleased to be working with Abri for the first time in the Cotswalds. Vistry has an established relationship with Abri across the south of England, and we’re delighted to be extending that partnership in Wantage. Kingsgrove is growing into a vibrant new community, and this latest development will contribute a significant number of affordable homes to the wider tenure mix being delivered.”
