Vistry Group and LiveWest agree £76M deal to deliver 259 mixed-tenure homes in Plymouth

Vistry Group, the UK’s leading mixed-tenure developer, has exchanged contracts via its Countryside Partnerships brand, with the South West’s leading Housing Association, LiveWest, for the delivery of 259 mixed-tenure homes in Sherford, on the outskirts of Plymouth in South Devon.

With a GDV of £76M, Countryside Partnerships will be delivering a total of 259 homes, with 114 affordable homes being delivered in partnership with LiveWest and 145 private homes being delivered under the company’s Countryside Homes brand.

The scheme forms part of the wider Sherford development, an ambitious residential development located on land across Plymouth and the South Hams countryside. When complete, Sherford will have a total of 5,500 new homes in three distinct neighborhoods alongside a range of community facilities including a town centre, four schools, leisure centre and sports facilities as well as extensive transport links and abundant green space including a 500-acre country park.

Stephen Teagle, chief executive, Countryside Partnerships, said: “We are very pleased to have exchanged contracts with LiveWest to deliver a mix of much-needed homes across the South West. This latest scheme is a great reflection of the ability of our partnerships model to provide the right mix of homes that communities require and we are thrilled to be doing so in collaboration with our long term partner LiveWest for the residents of both the South Hams and Plymouth.”

Gareth Jones, development director for LiveWest, said: “We are delighted to be working with our valued partner Countryside Partnerships to develop more affordable homes in Sherford. We have been working to deliver affordable housing at Sherford since its inception. We are pleased to continue our support for the growing new town and community it has fostered.

“Countryside shares our social impact and sustainability values and our desire to accelerate the much-needed delivery of good quality, affordable homes across the South West. We understand how important affordable homes are in helping local people remain local and these new homes will help to strengthen the community at Sherford.”
