He applied for the trainee assistant site manager role in a bid to progress his career in the construction industry and ambitious to be running a site from ground up.
He says: “I have enjoyed expanding my knowledge and working as a team to deliver a project bigger than myself.”
Learning a whole new skill set, managing people on top of the day-to-day requirements on the job and looking to make sure everyone is working safely have been just some of the challenges Callum has overcome.
He is keen to inspire other apprentices and says: “I would recommend an apprenticeship to anyone who is looking to further their career. I believe this is the best route because you learn on the job, you will get experience and a qualification once passing your exams.
“I have recently just been promoted to an assistant site manager and wish to progress my career as far as possible in the construction industry.”
Senior site manager Dave Craig said: “Callum shows a very good attitude to the job and with the responsibility this role requires. In the future it would be very rewarding to see Callum pass on his knowledge to future trainees who choose to follow the same career path.”
