Next stage of South Kilburn regeneration gets underway

Vistry Group, the UK's leading home builder, through its Countryside Partnerships brand, and the London Borough of Brent have marked the official start of construction on NWCC, the 225-home development that is continuing the regeneration of South Kilburn in north-west London.

Symbolised through the breaking of the first ground on the project by Brent Council and Daniel King, managing director of Vistry West London, construction has now begun on NWCC, which is part of Brent’s regeneration programme to transform South Kilburn into a sustainable and thriving neighbourhood.

Vistry will deliver a total of 225 new homes at NWCC, with overall completion of the project expected by 2029. This will include 95 homes to be directly handed over to Brent Council for council homes, as well as 130 homes for private sale. The scheme will also improve connectivity in the area by linking the eastern and western parts of Denmark Road, and through an extension of Neville Road linking through the NWCC site to Albert Road.

Vistry is also delivering North West Quarter in Brent, another element of the regeneration of South Kilburn which will deliver a total of 328 homes as well as a range of additional facilities to benefit the wider area and community. To date, Vistry has delivered two phases of the scheme, providing 102 high quality new homes, as well as affordable workspace, with the next phase of North West Quarter due to complete in August this year.

Daniel King, managing director of Vistry West London, said: “We are excited to extend our South Kilburn estate regeneration partnership with Brent Council at NWCC, building on the considerable progress we have made at the adjacent North West Quarter. We are delighted to be delivering 95 new council homes to be directly managed by Brent Council, alongside 130 open market homes and a comprehensive programme of ongoing social value and employment initiatives.”

Councillor Shama Tatler, cabinet member for planning, regeneration and growth said: “We are delighted to be embarking on the next stage of the South Kilburn regeneration programme with our partners at Countryside Partnerships.

“This scheme will deliver more than 200 much-needed homes, almost half of which will be for existing South Kilburn residents.

“Not only will local families be given the keys to safe and secure homes - they will also be able to enjoy a whole range of new facilities, including a medical centre, cafe and pharmacy as part of the wider regeneration programme, right on their doorstep.”
